The problem you will have is GTIs never came in Galactic Blue so you will have to paint to do the swap properly.

hmm, yea come to thinkof it i have never seen one, does the swap still work with golfs?????? if so isnt there a dark blue golf

The colour for both the Golf and GTI is Indigo blue, I am pretty sure Galactic was Jetta only.

Blair is correct.

The only pieces that are different on the GTI and golf is the front valence.

what would be the easiest way to find someone or find a gti front end despite needing paint............i am new to the site i have been on vortex alot, but not alot of locals...

piece it together. The VW community is AB is tiny compared to that back east and in Vancouver.
You can try dubberz.com its the large Vancouver website, and they have a pretty large classifieds section.
I am assuming this is for a MK3 and not a Mk4, but if i am wrong correct me. See if you can find someone getting rid of a bumper and lip and others selling grilles and headlights. You have to get it all painted anyway so it doesn't really matter if the colors are all off when you purchase them.

i think you need a different hood then and possibly fenders bt you will have to check with a mk4 owner

i dont think you are going to find many people wanting to make that swap..but who knows.

Have you worked out what the paint costs alone are going to be?

I drive a mk4 gti and would do the swap if the paint cost wasnt so expensive. I think its out of my range, but figure out how much it costs and let me know.

Maybe junkyard? Find a car that got side swiped on the right, take the left pieces. Then find one that got hit on the left, and take the right pieces? If they are mismatched colors, it won't matter to you. Don't need grill and headlights, could just buy those new. Only need bumper, fenders and a decent hood.
