  • Fk Suspension?

    Hi all,

I am new to the board and would like to introduce myself. My name is Eric and I own a black 2002 Jetta 1.8T. Only mods are 17" wheels with Falken 512 tires, TT shifter, and Forge 007 DV.

My next mod is the suspension and I am seriously considering the FK 35/40 suspension kit from Concept 1. What I was wondering is that what kind of experience have you guys had with their suspension? In terms of drop (approx. 1.5"?), ride quality, suspension quality, durability? They look to be the cheapest option out there and was wondering if they are any good?

    Thanks all.
    Eric

Welcome to the boards! The guys here give pretty good advice. Also try the search function. FKs are popular around here.

I've actually been on the site before, haven't really posted anything. I'm from edmonton and was looking for some local MKIV sites. Almost everyone on this site seems to have a 1.8T....

The Turbo is king here, you will probably get mixed reviews between coils and shocks/springs but I think the FKs are all good!

fk is good, i have the 55/40 kit on my golf. look at my pics, they're posted all around this site to see what kind of drop you get. i wouldnt get coilovers as i find them bouncy and more expensive. if you want the 55/40 you need a new sway bar too.

I think konigsport has custom koni shocks.

konigsport uses koni shocks/dampeners and are dampening adjustable so you can keep them low but still have some comfort.. puppagevw (paul) has them on his GTI.. IM him for details

Holksvagon...that was you making the right onto 91st!?! how is the 1.5" drop in the winters?? i'd love to hook up sometime...never rode in a chipped or lowered car before!!

kuhli...i've only had the falkens for the summer...they are awesome. the grip is night and day when compared to the stock 15" michelins. i can't even break them loose in 1st anymore...i guess the motor mount don't hurt either!
