  • Ach ja! My car + My problem, come see!

    Here is my car:

    Here is my problem:

For those who have no idea what they are looking at, the wire I am hold should be connected to the other peice on the positive terminal. This wire feeds into the fuse box in the engine bay. Temporarily I have wedged the remaining wire piece under the broken piece with the 10mm bolt. Snug, for now.

So.... Any ideas who to take this to other than the dealership? Maybe there is a quick fix? The people on the vortex just said I should buy a new fusebox. Maybe some locals have a better idea!

Buy a ring connector, crimp and solder it to the exposed wire, then screw it to the post just like you'd do for any amp/alarm/aux power line. Should cost you a buck, maybe. Will be just as good if not better than what was there before.

I looked at canadian tire, the ring connector looked a little different. I'm not quite sure what gauge wire it is either. I suppose I could buy more than one.

I did this exact fix on my old rabbit, IN THE CANADIAN TIRE PARKING LOT

I went to Canadian Tire to buy a battery, opened the hood to check what size I needed, nudged the cable and it snapped off just like yours.

Bought some pliers, the new ring, and a small screwdriver, fixed it and drove home 5 mins later.

Really should solder it but honestly its super simple, you just cut that old bit off, put the new one on, crimp it and stick it back on the terminal.

PS The connector part doesn't have to be exactly the same, as long as it fits, thats why there is a nut that you tighten.

Sorry, those aren't HID's. They are White High Intensity LED's bought from Concept-1 installed as city lights. Nice try.

They are coming out where your high beams are - any pics with them off? (If they were hids they'd be in the low beam housing).

Best I have right now to show they are city lights. This can be accomplished with a european switch.

I bought those exact same bulbs from concept 1. One of them started to blink like a strobe a couple of weeks in so I had to remove it. What a waste of 20 bucks
