  • 08 City Golf in the family

Sister in law picked up an 08 City Golf last week. Haven't seen too many on the road yet. I like the look. and finally they have a stock stereo that is with the times... usb port and all. Nice little car.
Pics are not great, its dark, and its to cold to hold the camera still .

I think the front is more Hyundai'ish looking - but I'd love to find out if I can cram one of those stereos into an older mk4.

so this is what happened to the mk4 10 years later? hmmmmm

ewww. dont think me likey. are those fogs functional or are they painted white? lol

i would have to see it in person, but either way i think its a bastardization. mk4 v2.0 not so good. they should have made a v1.10 instead, improved everything in it, err wait, thats an r32. heh

It really looks MK5ish from the rear, too bad they didn't use the emblem as the door pull though. I think the fogs are the only thing that really wrecks the look of the front end. What is the material on the seats like?

I don't like a single thing about that... except maybe the price, but it is so ugly I still wouldn't buy it.

i agree that the blanks for the fogs looks a little silly.. i don't even know if fogs are an option. it's half way between the old mk4 and an mk5 rabbit. i think it looks good. The interior is not much different then the old mk4's (along with seat material), but it has a little fancier stereo. I think i like the new look better on the golf then I do on the city jetta. imo, there really isn't a better looking car in the under 20k$ category, and its fairly loaded too. The civic and fit were considered, but the fit was even uglier than anticipated, and the civic just didn't impress any of us.

i would think so... i can't imagine much has changed as far as how the stereo connects.

I don't mind the newish style....it's a good way to work with a platform that has most of the bugs worked out.

Do any of the new exterior parts (ie tails, headlights) from the new city's fit on the regular mk4's? Kinda looks like the front is completely different?

It's a nice car, but that front end just doesn't do it for me.
