This just putts icing on the cake, and i love it.

Got a letter today from VW CANADA stating that all owners of GTI's for 06 to present must bring in there lemon cars.

The xenon Head light are defective, and stick when going from high to low.

I can tell you first hand this is true, its done it to me a few times.

Just want to give all you MKV GTI a heads up incase you dont get the letter.


Too bad it does not state that the light will stick thus causing causing a fire, and BURN.

Really? I read the letters on the Vortex.
The (first?) recall is about installing caps over the adjustment screws to prevent owners tampering with the aim. its a "safety" regulation in the USA and Canada.
The caps can just be removed.

Wonder if this burning problem you speak of affects only canadian VW's as it hasn't popped up on the 'tex.
Can you post a copy of the letter?

As stated, the recall has absolutely nothing to do with the headlights sticking, its just to install caps over the adjusters. Maybe you should read the recall letter first before coming on here and complaining about something completely unrelated.

Whats ur problem?

If your car spent most of its time in the shop getting fixed you would ***** and complain as well. Freddy has been more then patient with his car. I would of lost it after the first few times that ive had to take it in. When you spend 40K on a car you expect it to work flawlessly cause afterall it is brand new. I think Freddy would of had a better time getting a car from the junk yard and investing 500 dollars into it so that it atleast runs, that way if it would of broke atleast then he knew he didnt spend 40K on a piece of ****. Put yourself in his shoes and think about how bad you would ***** and whine.

Well put. I agree give the guy a break he's had a tough run with this car. And I don't get why people are telling him to sell it. Would you go and buy a LEMON if you knew? You are basically just telling him to dump his car problems on someone else's lap. Would you want that person to be one of you? I don't think so.

That sort of implies you think all GTI's are bad, lots of people have had no trouble.

Stick to the facts and more people will be friendly I bet? But you're insulting a lot of other people's cars so don't be surprised if they speak up to the contrary when you do, and tell you to stop complaining?
