  • Incredibly Desperate!!! Faaaackk

    So here goes....
I got my car shipped from the states...everything was well down there when i checked it out...it left fine. 3-4 weeks ago it was fine....i picked it up yesterday and i go happily to start it and find out it doesnt start....WTF...So i thought well the battery is dead....lets boost it. I did...we waited till the battery got stronger aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand nope. It didnt start. The windows lights and everything worked but the engine only cranked and didnt start.

I take it to Volkswagen Norden and am told that they really cant do much....because they work with factory settings and my car has alot of things done....

sooo....i have no idea what to do. I guess im looking for someone here in edmonton that can work on tuned cars...

and can atleast get it running...
well im off to work and hopefully i get some word from you fellas.

Not trying to sound smart or anything but did you check the gas tank level? they may have emptied it for shipping or just took the gas out of it coz they were tight wads. Get the simple stuff out of the way first.

Have you called USPmotorsports? Maybe they can help troubleshoot the problem. You could also try giving Richard a call over at Dubsport.

Unfortunately, this is what happens when you buy someone elses toy. Your always better off building your own car, this way you know what you've done and you have a better understanding of your car. Just because they gave you a parts list and a dyno to prove it has 350whp doesnt mean you know the car.

Hope it works out for you.

I would recomend taking it to dubsport. Hopefully they did'nt try the new sandblasting technique to polish the engine.

Just curious, how did you take it to norden? Cause that would suck if you had it towed to have them let you know they werent going to touch it.

            Re: Incredibly Desperate!!! Faaaackk

DUBY T!!! i will take your comment lightly.......but the thing is i drove it for 1 week in florida and he took me through it all. It left in running condition. I dont really know wtf happened on the way.

I will admit i havent checked all the little things. So i may be freaking out prematurely

I should take out the spark plugs and make sure theres no flooding from over cranking.
I should also check the solonoid. Im think the red battery cable runs to it.
i hear takin a rubber mallet or a soft clunk to it might work when trying to start it....

The engine sounds like it wants to start. Like it just needs a little extra go.
Im thinking ignition here...coils..?? i dunno but it just feels like it.

So yeah i took it to Norden on tow. I wouldve thought they could do something because of their tuning rep theyre trying to build but i understand. Plus i talked to Mike and he was very helpful he and Duby T have suggested Richard. Im visiting him tomorrow and seeing if he can help me out here.

But yep. I do appreciate all your comments.

They probably saw it as a liability issue. If they try and fix it and some how damage the engine, they would be held accountable. I don't think they wanted to take the risk.

Before everyone gets thier panties all in a knot, how about I fully explain the situation.

Actually it has nothing to do with liability or us just not wanting to work on it. Although we are trying to get into the tuning aspect at our dealer, we don't have enough experience with it yet to troubleshoot a car as heavily modded as Andre's. Rather than waste Andre's time and money, I suggested that he see Richard, who has considerably more experience working with heavily modified vehicles. I'm just trying to save Andre time and money in getting his vehicle running, not turning him away because we just don't feel like working on his car.

car started. Just as thought by last owner , Mike at vdub and i , the battery had died while shipping , too much crankin on it.

All i can say throughout this is Mike , Bill n Phil were extremely helpful throughout everything. And im a huuuuge pussy when it comes to meeting federal deadlines.

Other then that i hope to make it to a friday meet @ Richards. Hope to see you guys there.
