Is there a way to tell if the DV is starting to fail.

is a DV the same as a recirculation valve?

Ive read on vortex that it starts to make a funny sound, is that true?

I've seen a ton of then on AudiZine (same 2.0T engine as yours) and most people agree on there that when chipped, the stock one won't last too long. Durability ranges from a few days, to 10 or 11 months from what they say, and I'm sure it depends a lot on how hard you push it and what boost levels you're using. Apparently it's very easy to remove (on the Audis) and you can actually look at the rubber diaphram to see if it's ripped. I've also heard if you have a boos gauge you'll see lower overall boost due to the leakage. Does this help at all?

Its been maby 6 months since it was changed, and i drive my car VERY HARD.

My engine light came on again last week, it seams like my problem is starting all over again.

After talking with my Buddy at VW USA he was saying it could be valve again, since its a very week point in the car.

No prob on the Windscreen

I was taking a look at that. I do need it but, im worried that vw will void my warranty.

Im having big problem's with vw already because of my big fat lemon car

I don't think you'd have anything to worry about if you replaced your fragile OEM DV with the Forge unit. I would guess they are more concerned about the chip than a burly DV.

PS - if you sell your GTI before I chip my wife's wagon, I'll buy it off you

The diverter valve in my old GTI began making a fluttering sound when it was on its last legs.
