Where can you get service other then the dealership?

My car has been idling super wierd latley. Occasionally stalling. I've replaceed the coolent sensor but no luck. I have also had my ECU updated, and coils under warrenty. MAF and Bypass valve replaced in Feb.

I had brought it in to Southcenter but after 2.5 hours they didn't know what was wrong with it. (I had them stop after that cause I couldn't afford the bill!) Apparently I'm having missfires, I have a boost leak, and a strong negtive ground. I don't know what all this means, but the dealership is too pricey for "diagnosis".

Can anyone recommend other shops with a reasonable shop rate?

I should have asked for a copy of the Vag report.

I had a similar experience, car running rough, stalling. Took it to Northland. They didn't do anything, had no idea what was wrong with the car. It kind of just went away on its own (!) maybe its weather related. If it comes back I will go to Alpine.

Let's keep in touch over this. I've had this problem on and off for a few months, but it is the worst it's been now for awhile.

First time I had it, SCFC said it was the coils, and MAF. Replaced those and it subsided.

Second time SCFC said it was the ECU, and replaced the whole thing. had teh car for a week while we waited fot the part.

Third time, they did know, and couldn't diagnose it, I think because the obvious (or scapegoat) reasons mentioned above had already been addressed.

I took the car back since I couldn't afford a long and lenghthy diagnosis. maybe I will take the car to Northland for a change. I have never had service there before. I've heard thier techs are actually pretty good. ??
