Has anyone used a torch to heat springs to lower a car? I am thinking of doing this to my newly acquired winter car. I know it's sketchy but I want to try it once just temporary until I get my FK Hi Tek kit in. Right now it's got some zany negative rake.

ive done it too two of my cars when i lived on vancouver island and when iw as still in high school. it worked fine. just gotta be carful not too heat it too much it drops really fast when you heat them. just feather the heat on the spring till it drops about .25 inch of where you want it the ride hieght. did it to a crown vic and s10 truck. it is temporary tho, but thats your plan anyways, i drove both cars for about one year and didnt have a problem. but then abouti really didnt care about them so. lol

If you wanna do it just cut em, Heating would be a lot harder to get even I'd assume. Or just go on vortex and buy some springs for like 50 bucks.

Back in the day we use to call that a "heifer drop". You would stick a couple fat chicks on the hood and heat up your coils to drop it.

bro don't try to cut or heat them! I did it before and the ride is really bouncy. Considering the roads here it's not worth it, you won't be able to dry. Beleive me, after couple of weeks you will want the stoock suspension back on. Better just get any kind of lowering springs. I have my fk's springs on stock struts for 3 years now and my car is a daly driven.
