  • Head Light bulbs?

What do you guys think are nice looking head light bulbs? I hate my gross yellow look and wanted to up grade. I know HIDs are they way to go but i will do that down the road once i get proper head lights. Any susgestions on brand, or where to buy?

    Re: Head Light bulbs?

So far I have been happiest with Sylvania Silverstars (Canadian Tire). I have tried C-1 brand blue/white, GE Super Blues, and a decent tuner brand (can't remeber which). I suppose the next step up might be PIAA's, but I can't justify spending $100 on a set of bulbs.

North American silverstars are over driven to get the same light because of the blue coating. (What makes it "look cool" also makes it less bright). Thus they don't last very long either, and are expensive.

I got my last batch from http://www.powerbulbs.co.uk/ (free shipping). Osram silverstars (don't have the blue coating), vision plus, whatever.

CAn you get LED lights to replace brake and signal bulbs? are they brighter? I put some smoked tails on and they seem a bit darker so wondering if i can jsut get a brighter bulb.

I ordered HID from http://ww.vvme.com/ and they are great. only $99. BUT, you will need to swap to ecodes\projectors unless you wanna get shot.

Where is a good place to buy LED bulbs to replace the ones in side indicator blinky lights or grill fog lights? I think I will want to do this on my new car right away with something brighter and whiter.

                      Hi,
Google Daniel Stern Lighting. Food for thought. Ive just installed some and they ARE brighter, but I won't know how much until I finish aiming them.

Just bringing this back up as I had to do a swap of bulbs in the Smart and since I don't have projectors I feel retro-fit HIDs is too much I ended up putting in some Sylvania Silverstar Ultra's and I am very happy with them. The light is very white, crisp and bright a big improvement over stock or cheap bulbs, my only gripe is they make me city lights look very yellow in comparison.

There are a few other silverstar bulbs, other than headlights. (turn signals and stuff). Might have a bulb that makes your city lights match up better? I've seen them on Sylvania's site, but haven't seen the full selection in stores yet.
Also saw that they have some nice marker/signal bulbs that look clear but give off orange light. Cleans up headlights that are all clear/mirrored, except for one orange bulb.
