Big George at Tunedub is the only way to go

They've always been good to me, and many other mk4s/mk3s have had good exhaust/brake/clutch jobs etc. But they are aircooled guys at heart.

Yeah C1 is sometimes good but I agree that they seem to be a classic VW shop at heart that also supports modern VW's. Nice that they are local if they have what you want in terms of parts - but careful cause ordering out of the US is better now with the strong dollar. Sales guys at C1 have always been super nice, but the mechanics haven't always done stellar jobs for me - but its been probably 3 years since I have had them do work for me so I am sure they may be different now.

Tunedub is my choice of shop to have work done and I would probably buy my parts online.

It's hard for the aftermarket to keep up with the dealerships these days with all of the new technology. They are usually 2-3 years behind. I will always say go to the dealership where most of us old schoolers that are still with dealers know what's going on and keep current with the new technologies. I would also suggest that when you bring your car to the dealer is to meet the tech that will work on your car. It builds a relationship between you and your tech and you can put a face to the quality of work they provide.

                Tunerworks.

Proximity to home and options are a big choice.

Why did I select tunerworks? Excellent word of mouth reviews, prior contact with some of their people, desire to have GIAC installed.

I've been very impressed with their work, honesty, assistance and prices.

Totally agree with Davey, Although it may take a little longer to get the car into the shop, you can stick with one advisor and one tech, this way we all know what's going on with the car and little explanation is needed on return visits. The dealers have alot of troubleshooting documentation that an A/M shop cannot leagally have.
                  1) 2007 Candy white MKV GTI. DSG, votex kit, 19" Privat netz, tinted tails, smoked side markers & mirror signals, 20% tint, TT stubby, APR sport 3" turbo back exhaust, ABD stage 2 cold air intake. GONE.
                  2) 1993 Green Corrado VR6. ABD intake. FK Silverline coils, Zimmerman cross drilled & slotted rotors. GONE.

dealer work is great, it would be nice if more focus could be put on cutting service times for existing customers rather then all the focus being on selling and bringing in new customers. The cost and quality of dealer work isn't the issue for me, its the time involved to get the work done. I broke an oil pan the other day, and pretty much needed the car back the next day. In a case like this, a dealer probably can't help.
I've used George @ tunedub a few times now, and he does good work too.

I have to agree with Volkstech and bullfrog. With out a good relationship between you and your tech, somethings just get left behind. Its always good to when your Tech is stoked to work on your car, that way you know things are in good hands.
