  • R32 to Canada

I had a very intresting talk with two Vw dealers in the US. today, about buying a MKV R32.

First of all there set to be delivered at the end of Aug. or early Sept.

    There 08 models

One dealer had 3 for sale in CO. The other in Montana had 1 still not sold.

But the big Question "can A Canadian buy one, and bring it here to CANADA"

    The answer is YES

I am in the works to buying one of these bad boys, and will have more info on Duty, if any, Vw finance in the USA, and any other info i might need soon from the Dealer.

Ive been under the impression that getting R32's into Canada is something that does not happen. One dealer told me 10% of his clients live in Canada.

So anyone thinking about getting one of these cars, There out there, you can buy them, and of course they need a loving home.

If anyone out there has imported a car from the USA i would love to chat about the paper work you needed for crossing the boarder.

I would like a Mk4 R32, had been trying to find ways to import, including drivetrain/body "seperate" and kit registration (but insurance goes nutzors at that point)

        Re: R32 to Canada

The only Canadians that imported the Mark 4 R32, were Quebecois, whom imported it as a salvaged title. They then rebuilt them. The time frame was short, as the government quickly put a stop on them.

Currently there are 3 known R32's thru the Vortex community in Canada.
One Deep Blue Pearl, One Reflex Silver and one hideous "BMW M3 Yellow". I say hideous because of the horrific body kit added to it.

Plain & simple, after you import that MKV R32, please do the same with my bridge in Manhattan.

        * Same rules apply for the MKV as they did for the MKIV *

Its funny you say MK 4

There was one in Montana that i found, from the same dealer that has the MKV R 32's

He was saying its even easyer to get a used MK 4 to cannada then a new one.

For me i just love the New MKV Golf body too much to settle for a MK4.

Obviously the dealer in the US doesn't know what he/she is talking about!! The car is on the non admissable list with the canadian ministry of transport therefore it cannot legally be registered in Canada!! I wouldn't get my hopes up if I were you!

                        Re: R32 to Canada

The new R should have the 3.6 not 3.2 to move that behemouth.

lol like the MK5 more because it comes in only Automatic?

obviously you know what you're doin.

But if you reaaaaaaaaaaaaaally wanna talk to a broker, talk to my bud jeff .. jeff@pattersonimages.com . .

oh right, he takes my advice before importing any JDM VW's.
