I have hopes that the MKV R32 will be allowed but the list has not been updated with 2008 vehicles yet so you will have to wait. However if you can get the car and bring it up before the list is updated you also might be as it has been said if they can't find it on the list they let it go.

I would not put too much faith in what a dealer says as they will usually do whatever to make a sale and leave you to deal with the issues, but I would seriously doubt that you could finance the car in the US.

Like Blair said, you may be able to find a loop-hole in the system by bringing the car up before the 08' models are added to the RIV list...but I highly doubt it. Also, you won't be able to finance the car through the US dealership unless you have a US address...so you would have to buy it outright (oh, and the bank won't give you a loan for 'new' import). Good luck, but I don't think this is going to happen and I'm sure you're not the first to try.

i think for daily driverness i'd take an R32 over my s4 almost any day.. for mod-ability the s4 wins hands down but i bet those r32 are so much fun to drive

Blair and Kyle (Canadian Turbo & Smarty39) summed it up best. There may be a chance that you can sneak one in before they update the list for '08 models but you would still have to pony up $32K U.S. + taxes + duties in cash to get one.

Unless you've got that kind of loot, or can borrow from a friend or family member, you might be stuck.

Good luck, though, and if you do get one make sure to bring it to a meet!

I'm pretty sure you could get a loan if you wanted one lol its really not that big of deal. It's ridicoulous to say the bank wont loan someone money.

It could be financed if you have good credit and such but not in the US, is what I meant, you need to be prepared to pay in full to get the car out of the country, whether that money is borrowed here is another issue.

I find kijiji is totally crap. I found a low mileage S4 on there once for 13,000 and several others. A lot of them don't leave contact info.

I lived in Steamboat Springs CO for 3 years, and i still have an address there.

As for the list not showing the new MKV yet. The R32 wont be at the dealers till late aug, maby even later. By that time maby the list will be current.

Im doing my home work in this. Im not too worried even if i cant get it at a good price, i still have my MKV GTI. LOL
