  • APR or GIAC... cold weather?

    Hi ALL:

I am contemplating to have my car chipped... from Vortex most people prefer GIAC, i am still thinking about it... What i need is for someone that has chipped in either one to share some of their experience, like cold weather performance, durability, service received at tuner, and most of all, actual HP gain. please share. (ps.. i am leaning towards the GIAC at this point)

I heard if you use a chip in the winter it invalidates your warranty.

Also if it snows a chip will suck snow into your airbox

                don't do it!

Actually i am looking for inputs where they tried both chips... but thank you all!

and i think the chip won't suck snow into your airbox....

My only gripe with the APR chip is that if you have a DSG in Drive mode it desperately wants to shift up all the time so you'll be going 50km/hr and look down and you're in fifth.

Is there even a Giac dealer in Calgary?

Tunerworks does GIAC, they did the programming for my audi anyways, call them up I'm sure they program for Dubs as well.
