    Re: mk3 Jetta Info/Advice.....

you might as well do clutch and timing chains together as you have to drop the tranny to do the chains.
I have all the stuff to do mine sitting in my garage, its only $200 in parts or so for everything, its the labor that kills on it. What I want to do is just pull the whole engine and make life a lot easier and do the headspacer, clutch, LSD, turbo all at the same time. If I'm going to take everything apart I might as well do it once and do it right.

that is low km, if the car wasn't abused and if it was regularly maintained, you will drive it at least till 200 000 km no prob.

Thanks for the help guys. I am seeing the car tonight. I will let you know how it is. The chains and such have already been done. The car needs nothing. I will have to ask him about the clutch or not.

depends what your future plans are. if you want more power down the road might as well do the upgrade now so you wont have to worry about it later on, the cost to upgade is cheap in terms of just the little extra, to buy a whole new clutch down the road will be $$$.

upgraded clutch like $300-450...stock about half that
