What is this car worth??

1999 MK3 Jetta TDI This is the description my dad gave me as he looked at it for me.

"Anyways the car starts well and runs good, motor sounds ok and transmission shifts fine. It is a five speed manual. The interior is in great shape. Things I see wrong.... Some cancer on kick plates under doors and on back of fender. Lots of chips on hood. he hit a deer about 2 years ago and he thinks the body shop painted wrong??? anyways it is chipped pretty bad on front fenders , hood and grill,bumper. The driver headlight lens is broken? it has covers on them know. There is a dent on metal above rear bumper not bad no paint chipped! Keyless remote does not lock it will open doors though. Under hood....appears to be all solid but noticed rust on some lines and things by battery. Interior....Cloth seats heated they work, windows work. mirror cover on drivers visor is broke off. Windsheild good, rubber good has all hubcaps 14". "

The car has 223,000 km's, cloth interior. Rust is under the passenger side door and fender.

The owner is asking 8000 obo, whats this car worth?

I dont think that the car is worth $8000
It would probably be about half of that by the sounds of it.
I think you should take your money elsewhere and look at some VR6's or something like that for $8000

Id pay max 4000 if the engine, brakes, other mechanicals were absolutley perfect. Like stated before you could find a vr6, no rust, and 150k for around the 7to 8k mark

Definately not gonna go with a VR6 again. I do a lot of highway and city driving so a TDI is my best choice for mileage.

Anyone know of any good Jetta TDI's for sale?

Check buysell.com frequently, your bound to find something decent for 8 grand.

Friend of mine found a cherry VR6 as described above with all records since the original purchase in 1995 with about 110,000kms for $8,500.

These are the pictures of the car if they will help at all. Is kinda dirty from the recent rain we have had, my dad did tell me it looks more chipped in the front than it looks in the picture.

Judging by the pictures, I would say $4G and a litre of bull semen.
