  • need new shocks

I am in the market for new shocks. The ones I have on the car are original and the car currently has the Eibach pro-kit springs on as well. I am wondering if I should go with the Eibach shocks or if there is a cheaper and better idea out there? I have heard Koni FSD being tossed around a lot but they are pricey. Eibachs are as well. I sure dont think shocks are $150-$200/each. Thats without install. Some proven brands and prices are what I need. Guestimates are okay as well. I have no idea what to get or how much I am looking at spending for parts and install. I know I was charged over $100/spring to have them installed and then had the wheel alignment to do after that. I am sure that bill was over $600. Any recommends would help.

    WOW.

55 views and not one once of help. Does everyone out there have no knowledge like me on this topic? I am thinking with the amount of VW owners who lower someone might have had a little knowledge on their own set up.

If you want new stock shocks I have a stock suspension with something like 35,000kms only on it FS.

If I were you I would either go with VW stock or spend the coin to get a good brand like the Koni's or H&R's or Eibachs. If you think they are pricey pick up a used set. If you buy cheapo brand shocks you will pay later when they break, bend, wear out again, etc.

For prices, well, the internet is a good resource. Install... dunno, call Tunedub or somewhere and ask for an estimate. I bet 600 bucks yeah.

Eibach, Koni Sports, Bilstein Sports.... I'd recommend all of those. They're not going to be cheap, but you gotta pay to play.

I know a few guys in edmonton are running H/R racing springs on AGX shocks/Struts. Has a great ride with a moderate drop. The setup is so good I just had to order it.

http://www.ecstuning.com also offers a good starting place for prices however they ship ups ground. Watch out for brokerage.
