Got my car chipped, but dont feel power difference.

I got my car chipped by Simon (Upsolute) the other night, and the car went to pretty much the same boost as it had before 12psi.It felt the same as it did before.

I have a feeling there is something wrong with my car because it will usually only go to 12 psi for a little bit when i first start driving the car, then it will only go to 10. Then when i got off the highway yesterday it was only going to 5. I switched my Forge diverter valve back to stock but it does the same thing with both diverter valves.

Ive gotten a CEL before like 2 months ago where it said intermitent leak check diverter valve, and i cleared it, it never came back until about a week ago, so i checked all my hoses and all the intercooler piping and the CEL went away by it self.

Any one have any idea wats goin on with my car?

From wat i have read on vortex i think i have boost surging, or that it could be a bad n75 valve or even coil packs. Or obviously a boost leak some where.

I had a boost leak with mine. I broke the little T under the intake manifold near the n75 and didn't see it. Same thing, boost to 10 or so then backs down to 5 and holds.

I know that an N75 valve will help with surging (and make the extra power a little more noticeable) but not sure why it doesn't feel any different post-chipping. Maybe check with Simon? Or it could be that your butt dyno needs recalibrating

should of went with giac more money but i think it's better,plug it in and plug it out.diffrent settings and no engine lites.

upsolute is fine.. dont think the issue is software related.

Many, many people have gone with Upsolute and have been very happy. You wouldn't feel a difference between GIAC and Upsolute I don't think. It definitely sounds like you have some kind of boost problem, because you should surely be feeling a difference.

i just got the cheap alternative - make a big recess under your gas pedal so you can push it in more! boom, more power.

I would say you have a boost leak or something, you should see more boost.

Did you buy the car from new? could it be that it was already chipped before you got it?

Guys, he's saying he's only seeing 10-12 PSI, then down to 5 PSI. That's not even holding stock is it?

Btw if Simon installed, did he take it for a drive after to make sure? He could tell you in a few seconds if it's chipped or not.

Sounds like it is in limp mode, get it checked even though the CEL is not on it can still have stored codes.

hey thanks for the suggestions so far..

Guys ive had this car for over a year now im pretty sure if it was chipped when i bought it, then it woulda ran faster then 16.3 at the track.

Also i got a cel before i ever got chipped.

Also on the way home from work tonight it was only hitting 10 psi at the most.

My upsolute doesn't run much more (used to run much higher boost), I had PM'd simon who felt everything was normal, so I guess I never got it fixed (although I'd like to.......)
