  • Motor Mounts Installed

Just got back from Concept1. They installed my motor mounts and no more vibrations. Shifting is defintely less jerky. I would almost consider this a DO OR DIE for a tiptronic since the shift points are extremely rough. Thanks Peter for the info!

      WICKED!

The exhaust sounds deeper, The Engine starts up differently now... faster it seems. 2nd-3rd gear grind is completely gone. I cant say enough good things about the mounts. Less motor movement makes a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference.

$50 for the parts $50 for labor. Dr. Volinder is gonna sport half of the costs =)

I remeber hearing Peter's car when starting up and it totally sounded more aggressive. After the mounts were installed the sound is exactly the same as Peters... I love em!

                      Installation $50, Parts $50

After a week of driving I notice a little more vibration during idle but it is well worth it. Ask peter how my car sounded and felt before.... YIKES! it felt like a 1970 Hyundai Pony.

Which motor mount did you install (poly...what durometer) and which mounts did you install. Did you do both tranny and dog-bone mount.

Peter & QUA -how much vibration........does it shake your dash at all or just the steering wheel.

I am having problems with the shifter rattling in first gear when engaged and I am almost certain it is because the trans mounts are too soft. Dealer said that sifter vibrations were common up to 2002.....in 02 they changed the bushings.

I'm pretty sure it was the Polyurethane Dogbone mount. People say after a few months there is less noise & vibration. Vibration is at its peak when you start the car. But after going through what i had to drive for a few weeks its well worth it.
