  • Bosch 108 vs Bosch 710N

Well I did a little testing between the 2 DV's and found the 710N boosted higher and held boost longer.

2002+ OEM 710N Boost Peak: 19-20 PSI Hold: 15-16 PSI

Porsche 108 Boost Peak: 16-17 PSI Hold: 13-14 PSI

Its always good to have a couple DV's hanging around =)

Im still very interested in the n75 "h" and "j" versions to see how they perform. If I can get 1-2 PSI more I will be very very happy. If the boost at redline can stay high i'll get emotional! hehe.

    ** EDIT ** 108 instead of 110

What did the 110 Bosche come out of?

I'm probably misunderstanding your post, but N75 valves aren't the same as DV's

I still question the efficiency of these turbos at 15+ pounds at redline.

Turbo won't be at 15+ pounds at redline, it falls off.

I am not sure I understand the physics that can make the DV actually increase boost? I thought that only response times, how long it lasts, etc could be affected.

My understanding from looking at the pics (I've never actually opened one up since my is the stock plastic shite) is that the spring is stiffer in the aftermarket units. Stiffer spring = higher force required to compress = increased pressure required to open the valve. Adding the washers pre-compresses the spring. Effectively increasing the force required compress the spring any additional amount. Remeber F = kx?

As for response times and such, I think you might be talking about the different incarnations of the N75 valve?
