  • Falken 512's

    Hi,

Has anyone here run the 512's in the winter? They seem to get very good reviews in wet/dry conditions, but not much info on the winter situation. I'd rather not get into running two sets of tires, those dry, driveable winter days really bother me when I'm on winters.

Sorry, haven't run them. TireRack ranks tires and has an ongoing survey, but they don't seem to carry Falken's.

I have them - they are pretty low profile looking - they don't look a lot different than the ES100s etc.

But they are technically my summers - I am planning on using my stock 15s in the winter - but I wanted some minor all-season performance for those early/summer/late snowfalls. I'm not sure I would recommend running them all year round (at least not in 225/45/17. A higher profile might be ok tho.

How do you like the performance compared to what you've had in the past? What did you have in the past?

Shrug - I had some wide ass michelins on my LeBaron, and I was stuck in a Sunbird for awhile so I don't really have much to compare them to. All I can say is they don't slip, I can rip around off ramps as fast as I want and they don't bark. And the wear rating is excellent (thank god since I can't rotate them :P) They make no road noise.

Launches were **** at Race city - blame the tires, blame the track, blame the wheels, blame the driver - it's up to you.
