MK3 GTI vr6?

What are your guys opinions on these? are they reliable? Fun to drive? quality? etc.

A bud of mine has his for sale i wasent sure if it was a good deal or not.

I had one, effin loved it. Very fun to drive, had no mechanical problems in the 30000km I had it.

Looks like a good deal too.

He said little rust on the rear hatch, some dents and rock chips but price is flexable, if i dont go through with it ill ask him if i can post his info and you boys can have at her

I was concerned about how high the front sat compared to the rear. The rear is way down and the front wheel gap is huge. He said its been like that for as long as he has had it. Is this normal? easy fix? that would drive me nuts.

Well, while you're trying to get the pic to work i'll ask, does he have a big arse stereo or something in the back? That would cause it to sag some over time. I've seen a few sub equipped VW's look like they have reverse rake.

Probably needs a new suspension. $500ish + install

Reverse rake is very common to those cars. Nothing a cupkit wont fix.As far as the car goes, buy it man! You will love it. I have owned 4 MK3 GTI Vr6 and still currently have one. Love them!

If im going from a mk4 gti 1.8T To a mk3 vr6, you think i will still like it? So how much is a cup kit or what ever to make the car sit nice and even?

Me too! I went from a Jazz blue 20th AE to my current MK3 VR because I really missed the MK3 GTI I sold to buy the 20th..... Long winded I know but just drive the car and see what you think!!

Alot of you guys seem to know a ton about these things and thats awesome, i thank you for your help. I was curious if any one could give me a guess on how much i should budget for this car to get a few things fixed if i were to buy it

rust on rear tailgate repair and painted
suspension, (so it will sit lower and even lol)
Any any engine tune ups i should do since it has 165k. If any one has any guess or has delt with this stuff before, the advice would be great. thanks.
