  • New Autotech CAI @ Concept1

$329 for the 3" Autotech CAI. Although your MAF is only 2.5" i think... maybe 2.75" the 3" shouldnt have any performance gains over anyone else.

The CAI is my last mod I'll perform. I really dont think it'll add too much HP or TQ maybe just better throttle response and sound.

pretty sure the MAF on 1.8t's is 2.5", and the VR6 MAF is 2.75".

so how is 3" CAI going to be better than a 2.5" if its got the same bottleneck?

                I agree with Peter,

I'm getting this mod after I get my MAS elite 19" Rims from a friend of a friend =)

I wasn't questioning why you guys are buying from C1.

Just wondering why you're going with a 3" setup over a 2.5" setup. Is it just because thats what C1 sells and you buy what they sell, or are you upgrading to a larger MAF or what? I'm interested to know

No I'm not planning on upgrading my MAF... I am however thinking of upgrading to the SAMCO hose kit (including the SAMCO TIP) -- we will see...

My EVO and the carbonio is a 3" CAI too.. i doubt the size going from 3" to 2.5 or 2.75 for like 3" is really gonna make a difference in the air coming in....

hey peter.. aren't the samco hoses silicon instead of rubber so they hold more boost and are less prone to breakage? I remember the S4 guys were nuts about these a while back

yah the samco hoses are silicon i believe lscg2, i saw a video that was put out at the same time the samco hoses came out, that showed the stock rubber hoses actually contract in the middle cutting down airflow under extreme load

these apparently are smooth enough inside for maximum flow, as well as incredibly sturdy so they dont cave in.

definate thumbs up. i'm going to buy them too when i get the cash.

Sounds like we got a few people who would buy these Samco hoses or who plan on buying them... maybe we need to put together a group buy for a better price? Somewhere might give us 10% off or free shipping if we got together 5 people?
