Hey guys, looking at a 97 Golf k2 w/ 120000km, manual. Overall good condition. It's not officially for sale at the moment, but it my be soon. What do you figure such a car is worth? It will be a private sale.

My opinion is $7000. You can always lower the price if yuo want to sell it asap, otherwise take your time!

Its not worth $7000! I believe the 97 K2 was based loosely on the CL golf so it has a 1.8L 90HP 4 banger. The 97 Trek had the 2.0L which would be worth a little more. I'm thinking its a $5000 car at best depending on what mechanical/body condition its in!

Ha Ha!! Actually you are wrong. The first generation golf K2 did have the 1.8L motor. I thought it was 1997 but maybe it was the 96 MY.

My first VW was a 1997 Golf Trek, was actually a great car enjoyed my time with it, even though it was red!

I would concur with the 5-6,000 price range.
