My mom got back from Sweden last night and (bless her heart) she brought back all my favorite Euro car magazines.

In the August issue of the aptly named Car magazine, there is a small blurb on the upcoming Golf with the best rendition I've seen yet of what it will look like. I'll scan it later and post it up.

They also said that eventually an Mk 5 R32 will be offered but this time the 3.2 will be turbocharged and have 300 hp!!!

Depending on Canadian availability, I may have to go for that R32 instead of the S4 Avant I had planned to pick up in 2007.

Those pictures make me nervous. I'm not sure I like it. The red one looks like an SIR. But I'm sure when I actually see one I like it (I hope - the days of the Corrado may be numbered)

Our scanner at home appears to be rodgered.. I'll take care of it at work tomorrow. It is very similar to the ones Blair posted, yet it looks a bit better. I also saw a fuzzy scanned image of a German magazine that featured a MK 5 R32 that was on the vortex..



I think it looks pretty good. A little Civicish but I'm sure in the flesh it will look great. I just pray that the R32 will be available here too.

at least it comes with HIDs..peter I don't think I could ever sell my car unless I really come to hate it.. I think it would be silly of me to dump all this cash into it just to get rid of it.. if anything pay it off early and jump on an Mk5 and have 2 VW's in da house

All the MK5 's do is kill the resale of our cars..unless they are like a Pinto and start blowin up...LOL i hope so

i saw a few new a3's here already, same platform as the mk5. i rather have an a3, but it costs like $40,000. well the 2.0 tdi anyway, has 140hp. its a brand new engine.
