  • door switch problem?

So the lock/unlock button on my driver's door doesn't seem to work anymore and it doesn't light up when i turn the lights on. The door will still auto lock when i drive away and unlocks with the remote.

Is this a bad microswitch? Does the microswitch control any other functions like gas cap release or hatch release?

More than likely it's just that switch. You can probably switch it out with the passenger's switch as a test.

Its more then likely a bad solder joint in the switch housing rather then the switch. It is easy to fix but not easy to get the housing out. I have the same problem and in the mean time I just unlock all doors then lock and the drivers door seems to lock.

ya door lock control module is broken... those things are like $300 new ouch. pita, car basically doesn't know when the door is open. its a good idea to replace, cause if someone breaks into your car and opens that door, alarm won't sound...

i tested the alarm and it did go off when i opened the driver's door when it was armed. and like i said, everything seems to work normally except the lock/unlock switch.

oh i see, the button itself, ok thats different. thats unsual, the more common problem that most people have is that the sensor in the door which determines if its open or not stops functioning. therefore the interior lights don't come on when you open the door, you can lock it if its open, etc...
