Dealer dings?!!

Does anyone else have dings under the door sills? They are located on all 4 corners roughly 4-5 inches in from the wheel (Just run your hand along the bottom edge of the vehicle). I just noticed these the other day and my coworker (she owns a TDI Jetta) also has them too. The dealer told her that it happens when they unload the vehicles from the trailer. They also told her that it can be repaired on OUR buck! WTF? Why do we have to pay for something that happened to the car before we even took ownership of it?:angry:

Those are the jack points for you to jack up your car with the VW jack... look at the jack and then at the rim where the bumps occur you'll see what i mean..... Damn stealerships dont even know anything about the product they are selling....

i have those lil bumps i thought it was a ding too but side skirts will cover it up and i belive they are to do with the lame little jack we get

I was going to laugh but i thought what the hell might as well be nice, I asked a crap load of stupid questions just like everyone else no matter how much they think they know about dubs... Pretty funny that the dealer doesnt even know what the hell hes talkin about

I took a look at the jack that came with the vehicle and I still don't see how the dings have anything to do with the jack points. Maybe we are talking about different "dings"? My dings are plainly visible from the side. There are four (one on each corner). I think that lsc2g knows what I'm talking about as a set of side skirts would definetaly cover them. These dings do not look like factory produced surfaces as each one looks slightly different. And the location of the dings is not in a place that is strong enough to support the weight of the car.

yah those dings are supposed to be there. they're places to put the factory jack. the factory jack uses a weird endbit that clamps on to the underside lip. the lip can bend and its not a very good place to jack, but thats where its there for in a pinch.
