  • HID Angel Eyes?

Im not the brightest when it comes to cars some days
Ive had my eye on some black angel eyes for my car.
From what ive picked up the HID's are the headlights that are blue?
I know that the xenon headlights are blue... Ive been looking to put blue headlights in my car so I figured Ill wait til my angel eyes go in.
Do angel eyes come standard halogen?
If so what can I do to get them blue?
Thanks for putting up with my lack of knowledge haha

        Re: HID Angel Eyes?

If you use an OEM HID Headlight (as from the VW factory) then of course it will be fine.

The "kits" that people fit into regular headlights generally do bad things, like melt the housings, or cause other problems.

          Re: HID Angel Eyes?

If you're going to get HIDs make sure you get OEM ones. The knock-offs look ghetto and simply getting blue bulbs look super ghey.

The only downside is that you need to be prepared to shell out around $1000.

          You gotta pay to play.

eek, that probably means i got confused over the projector headlights and HIDs then cause the ones i was looking at were around the $500 mark

It is possible to find "real" HID set ups for around $500, but they won't be as baller as OEM ones.

Here you can buy a set of brand spanking new ones rather than buying used ones that are possibly damaged. These ones include all the hardware for plug and play, too.

The only catch is that they're $1600 US

$1700 USD is too f**king expensive for headlights. At some point you are going to think "Why did I spend 2 grand on headlights".

I have the FK Angel eyes in mine... nice, except the stupid "angel eye" bulbs burn out WAAAAY too easy... I think about half of them were toast when I put the car away for the winter....

I'll see if I can find a picture and I'll email it your way...

My buddy installed a HID drop in kit into his FK angel eyes a couple months ago. I think it looks great, but I have personally never been behind the wheel of a MK4 with OEM HID's to compare. If you guys want some pics I could probably get some up tomorrow
