Modding my 05 Golf TDI

Hey guys! I live in calgary and have been lurking on these forums for a whille. I drive a 2005 Golf TDI and I need some help and answers to moding this baby.

So I have some questions.

1) What are some Quick and relatively cheap Engine Mods?
- Are there are injector nozzles for the PD engine?
- What will a air intake do for me?
-Which Chip?

2) How do front mount intercoolers work?
- Are there any for my engine and what is the ease of installation?

3) Suspension?
- What do I buy?
- Who installs it for me?

4)Body work?
- I want to keep with the Euro theme.
- What are the best type of materials?
- What should I avoid?
- Where can I find some OZ artistos?

5) Lighting?
- I'm planning on putting in the ECS tuning HID kit Hella Angel eyes.
- Will hella micro DE work or is it a no no?

where in calgary can I go and get some of this stuff done if I dont really have the time to do it myself?

Upsolute is a good bet for TDI chip (from eutuning). I'm not sure what you can do with injectors in a PD. I was under the impression it was not an easy task.
Wouldn't worry about a fmic unless you get a bigger turbo, the OEM one does a pretty good job.
OEM air intake for a TDI is also pretty much the best way to go, no need to mod this, really.
Suspension is really a personal opinion... everyone likes a different ride/appearance. I just went with a cheap option and installed OEM suspension from a GLI. Not super sporty, but dropped it an inch, and for the highway miles i put on, I wanted a little softer ride.. didn't want to go too low either. Was miles better then stock suspension in a TDI.

If you are going to lower the car I would look into upgrading your skidplate. I've had mine from Evolution Imports for a little over a year and I know it's saved my oilpan on more than one occassion (and I haven't lowered it yet).

KermaTDI.com has injectors for the PD, but injectors do wear out so I'd go for the Upsolute (haven't done that yet either... one day).

better to buy a hybrid pan, it has a steel bottom, cheaper then a skid plate, and if you do that, better cooling

big injectors = fun torque, but a bit smokey. i did a full replacement to oem .205 injectors.

TDi mods all come down to how much money you want to spend, its like any car. If you want the most bang for your buck, just go with the chipping option. It will deliver more fuel, and more air with a better timing. The only draw back is warranty options then go down the drain. By the sound of your original post though you are not looking as that to be a problem.
Injectors, well KermaTDi is the only one selling upgraded ones and it does not come cheap. Once you do injectiors though, the chip, turbo, and intercooler all seem to pop up on the wishlist fast.
Turbo, well the two upgrades that I know are close to plug and play are the VNT 20 kit from Kermatdi, or a hybrid vnt 17/22 turbo. Bart sold one of these a while ago on TDICLUB I am pretty sure, but I think these are your best and cheapest turbo route at the moment.
Intercooler, two options that work, one the Eurojet, and a second one is a GTI one that seems to work. It comes down to money and time as it takes some planning if you want to go a custom route.
Skidplates, a worth while investment that I picked up from evolution and have abused it many a times. I have to take mine off and beat it with a sledge hammer about once a month so it stops rattling aginst the stuff. This mostly happens when I drive the roads between Hidden Creek and Panarama (Construction roads), or Harvest and Evanston (144th). The $350 cost of the skid plate is a lot less then a new engine, and even if you don't drive stupid roads like me, ice chunks and debris on the roads can do a number as well. I will have the hyrbid oil pan next week on my car, so I can't really comment on oil temps or clearence exactly yet.
Air intake, leave it, worthless investment for an upgrade.
Chip companies, UPSOLUTE is the only local company, and Simon has built a good name for himself. You can ship and do other options but when something goes wrong, local means your car gets back on the road quicker.
All this is just stuff I have picked up off of TDICLUB, you want a real quick TDi, go sit in Bart's. His sig from his posts has his car doing 200 hp and 350 lb or torque. You should feel a bit of force pressing you back into your seat with those numbers.

Concept 1 sells a german Diesel Power chip as well, and I have had no problems with mine. In fact it quickly made my 2000 tdi a throw you back in your seat, fun car to drive.

This is gonna take a while, but if it didn't what would there be to look forward to? I'm also a student at U of C taking Geology. School does come first. And yes warranty is a concern. I already saw what could happened when your clutch "blows up" and VW don't want to cover it. Lucky for me they did.

Here is the list of what will be done in more or less this order.
1) Chipping: Most likely the Diesel power module but maybe upsolute. (need more Info)

2) Hella angel eyes HID kit from ECS / hella micro de's


3) Rims: Borbet Type LS Bright Silver Paint

4)Suspension: I hope for coilovers otherwise springs. (Need info)

5)Exhaust: Have no idea what to do here.
6) Body Work: 2oth AE valances all around

And then later on I will likely go with the VNT- 17 Turbo and FMIC.

What do you all think? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I would also love to get to know some of you guys a bit better.
I got this business card for eurotuning on my windshield last summer and that how I found this site. Is this a good place to go and get some stuff done?

Just a suggestion with the chip...
You may want to do the exhaust and the chip done around the same time cause I hear some diesel chips like to produce alot of extra exhaust.
I have a magnaflow catback exhaust on mine and it purrs! It sounds really good, specially when you give it a bit of gas. It isnt to loud either
With the eurotuning, I have heard nothing but good come from there.

with chip, go upsolute, it is a real chip. don't bother doing exhaust for now, or ever, i haven't - my figures speak for themselves next mod get bigger PD injectors, www.kermatdi.com has them. also leave intake along, nothing beats the paper air filter.

Don't bother with exhaust until its broken, then fix it cheap. Straight pipe it, loose some weight, and get a cool turbo whine! If you want to do injectors and a chip, do them both, as if you do the chip first, you will probably need to reprogram from the new injectors. Kinda a slippery slope with money, but welcome to the world of cars!

standard upsolute chip is ok with injectors. i haven't tried the one that have put together for upgrade injectors. I understand that it cleans up the exhaust, but you loose some torque. Oh, and throw in a boost gauge before you mod anything... you're gonna want to know what your turbo is up to.

the hella lights that go in the lower vents supposedly block intercooler air flow, which is why they say they aren't for turbo models.
