  • Hmmm, maybe i wont upgrade that turbo??

    Well, I was thinking of upgrading my turbo when i get the car on the road, not all that sure now.

    one hot GTI

    How many of you do actually carry a decent sized extinguisher around with you?

      Thats ok as long as yove told your insurance you put that big uprated turbo on there. If you didnt and they find it then it could get ugly.

          after my first VW ended up like this (it was 100% stock, still had factory tape deck)


          I got a fire extinguisher. It wont do dick in the case of another wiring short in my dash like the first one, but who knows.

            I have two - still don’t think that would be enough to put down the turbo fire.
            It took few shovels of dirt and mud to put out turbo fire on the lancer, the 8 fire extinguishers did not do anything. Car was saved but all the wiring and plastic pieces under the hood had to be replaced. I think it was the oil supply line that faild, but not sure.

              Fair enough... if it's a massive fire, I'll let 'er go... at the end of the day it's just a car... but as long as I try, then I'll at least feel better knowing that I did. If I did nothing and it went up in flames, I'd always wonder if it would have made a difference.
