So I recently took my Jet to the stealership to get a wheel alignment post-suspension-settling, and I noticed on the invoice that they had commented on doing the alignment "as close as possible because the vehicle's lowered". I also notice that the steering wheel is ever-so-slightly turned to the left when driving in a straight line. Is this something that's normal with an aftermarket suspension, or should I get it fixed? I mean, I'd really like my steering wheel to be straight when I'm going straight. I'm really picky and always insist that my shop work be done properly (after all, these guys are supposed to be pros). BTW - I also just got back from the tire shop...getting my new driver-side winter tires turned around, as they were on backwards (they also damaged my Longbeach's pretty bad). Does anyone do quality work anymore (besides Bob, of course)??

Re: Alignment No Good?
My experience with wheel alignments is that they always scratch your wheels and never get it exactly right (no matter where I've gone). Also the dealership will always make a note of any mod you have that relates or even doesn't relate to the task at hand.KR

Re: Alignment No Good?
mytires supposedly has the latest alignment machine there is, they have a special until the end of january for a 4 wheel alignment, around $60 i think, you can try them....
they are supposed to first make the wheel straight in your car, tie it down, then proceed to align the wheels, then it will be straight when you drive in a straight line.2002 VW Golf GT TDI

Re: Alignment No Good?
I think the alignment was done by someone lazy and they didn't road test it after, or they said good enough. The work should be guaranteed though so if its not aligned then take it back and get it done again.06 Subaru STi

Yeah, it's off by "just a pube"...I'm still trying to decide if it's due to the crown of the road or if it's really off. Now that I have it in my mind that it's off, I can't quit looking at it and it's driving me nuts.'02 Jetta 1.8Tuuurbo

Re: Alignment No Good?
I ended up paying $169, as they did something with the rear axle. Overall, I'm not overly happy with the result. I feel like my steering wheel is cocked to the left just a bit all the time. You'd think a VW dealership would get it right. Oh, I'd take it to South Centre, but I'm in Saskatoon...booooo.'02 Jetta 1.8Tuuurbo
