i beleive the AEM is aluminum.. i think alot of people like the AEM from the looks and for the fact that your breather hose just pops into it and you don't have to add the extra lil filter.. I'm almost thinking of painting my evo silver but I dunno if that would be a good or bad thing for heat and/or if the paint would just flake off

Just use like 1200 degree paint and it wont flake or anything cause of heat at least

Wanna make one sometime? it'd belike 5 bucks since I have a filter already, then if it works we can make another one for your car.

PVC should work just fine, a bit hard to bend, and jointing it would look tacky, but its about $1/ft at Home Depot near me, so tommorow Ill head over there and pick some up, if I hate it, I'll give it away

Ehhhh pvc is a little brittle ABS is more of what i was thinking... JUst lookin for a thinner sidewall diameter..... Plus PVS is white or gray while ABS is Black

It's probably to late for this advice since you have already made up your mind Peter. But I have a Cabonio and just wanted to say I love it, the car pulls alot harder and the fuel economy has gone up. Also contrary to what some peope say this install isn't that bad at all.

ABS would be quite difficult to work with, and its a chunk more expensive, like I said, if I hate the PVC, I'll give it away, and only be out a few bucks and some time. If not, I got a cheap mod.

true enough but ABS is actually easier and cleaner to work with, but if your worried about cast go with it... I want to make one up that people will actually buy so I'm going with good stuff... Still goin to be cheaoer than the 250 US to get one
