  • Carbonio CAI or EVO CAI?

    Peter I'm rocking the EVO.. I guess I'm not worried nor have ever heard of the plastic cracking but I will take it off come winter time anyways.. It sounds awesome looks well not super flashy but its nice enough.. it stays cold which I would say is the most important thing.. even after a 2 hour trip I will pop my hood and put my hand on it and its cold.

    basically all CAIs are just a K&N on a stick.. i dunno the install on all of them is a slight pain the 1st time but I love this thing..
    so my vote goes for EVO.. and yes the gains are true.. well my stock seem to be faster afterwards anyways..

    I just put the EVO 3 piece on my GTI yesterday and i love it... sounds nice, Stays cold, and seems to pull a little harder.

    IMO I would go with the plastic just for the Heatsoak factor.... Metal = HOT
    Plastic=Cool

      yup.. the old 3 piece evo was good the 1 piece like mine is the best.. although the best part of the 3 piece is you can just take the 2 bottom pieces off and make yourself a homemade P-flow for winter :P

          Umm I got my from www.dubwerks.com out of ohio for 180US shipped back when they had a big sale on vortex.. the actual make www.evoms.com though I think they go for like 220US regular..

          ps.. peter i check evoms site they are 220 and you can pay with paypal.. umm the only thing I hated about it was dubwerks used fed-ex (home of the ship now pay later crap) so like 3 weeks ago.. 3 months after i got the cai!!!!!! they bill me 70.23 for duty/crap
          whatever though i love my intake..

                    If it turns out good and is cheaper than Evo I will buy one from ya I'd even drive up to Edmonton to check it out.

                    Theres not much to a CAI as long as its long, plastic, smoothly bent and has a filter on the end it will work awesome.

                      Anything wrong with the ABD intake from C1?

                        alot is wrong with the ABD intake from C1. it's a short ram intake, rather than a cold air intake. its the exact same as the P-Flow.

                        it feeds off air from the engine bay, so heatsoak is almost instantaneous. wont get any gains, only thing that will change is the noise. it'll sound cool.

                          Maybe we should all build some CAIs, I can just run my filter down into a better spot. Use some good ol PVC
