after looking at it again.. it does look a bit better to me now.. it does actually remind me of the last gen passat wagon yea.. GLI would be nice or a 3.2 6spd with quattro

Same reason they made the Jetta wagon and the Passat wagon.

I think the pictures make it look big so it looks like it's invading the Passat market but I don't think that's the case.

There's tons of Jetta wagons and Passat wagons out there so i'd say there's a market for both.

Because there's people out there who want the volume of the Jetta Wagon (since its just slightly larger than the Rabbit) that can't or won't afford a Passat wagon.

I hope they make a nice GLI version...I know it'll never be AWD...but I dare to dream...

The Mk5 looks way bigger than the Mk4 wagon though. The differences between Passat and Jetta wagons used to be bigger imo. Now they are much closer.
