  • Revo dealer

OK everyone, I know that there is a big thing going on with APR and Revo right now, but I'm interested in finding out if there is a local Revo dealer/rep.

On a side issue, why aren't any of the other ecu tuners not endorsing the serial port programming? This just seems like the only way to go. IMHO, pulling out an ecu, flashing it and soldering it back in just doesn't sound like the best way do this sort of thing. APR says they don't wanna do it because it makes it too easy for others to copy and figure out their programs. For some strange reason, I don't buy this argument. It just sounds like an easy reply for lack of a good response.

This topic seems to be of great debate on other forums, so I guess we'll see where this one goes on ours.

    Re: Revo dealer

So far I've found one in Ontario and one in Vancouver. No one local - yet.

Edit: Btw there's a revo thread in here somewhere - shouldn't be more than 2 pages old.

Autobraun in Edmonton supposedly either has Revo or are getting it soon.

Serial port programming isn't something that is being endorsed or not - its a technical problem that the other companies haven't figured out. From APR's accusations it looks like APR 'invented' this method but then Revo 'stole' it.

Simon L. is the Upsolute rep for Calgary too, Upsolute flashes the stock ECU chip instead of replacing it.

But you might have to take a few days off a few times, because you might need adjustments

              It's stealth, dealers can't tell.

I do agree that the guy needs to be sort of nearby - Edmonton would be my range. Van maybe if no one closer was ever going to get it.
