I had a Horrible day Nov 9th here's what happened at Kingsway Mall here in Edmonton.
I had a guy hit my drivers door as I was going to get out of my car.
He was pulling up beside me in a parking lot where I was parked and
was just getting out. He parked where he shouldn't. He dented my
drivers door and scratched the paint. He didn't even realize he hit
my car door until I was out and having to pry my door off his right
tire wheel well.
I now have to go make a police claim with Edmonton Police Service
and I have to get two vehicle repair quotes for my car.
This guy gave me his home phone # and licence plate number, home
address he refused to give me his insurance papers.
UPDATE:
Made my police Report, went to Bodyshop get this the guy who hit my
car door.... WELL his wife took their Van in to make a claim saying
she hit my car door and that she was driving. He was the one driving
and I have proof because I had a passenger in my car (Witnesss) and
I have his name, license plate # and phone # and address.
Well the Guy and his Wife are not going to be too happy because
Edmonton Police Service called his home, and requested he come into
a police station ASAP with his vehicle, Drivers License, Vehicle
registration, Insurance papers and make a report.
So obviously the Van is under her insurance not his. The Body shop
Guy was in shock when my Friend I both said This guy was driving, he
told me he wasn't going to make a claim, and if I was smart I
shouldn't either.
Edmonton Police service are going to call me when they have his
statement and it is all together.
They were fantastic to me at the community policing station.
UPDATE: Edmonton police got me this guys insurance info he was up for renewal on Dec 11.
My car is going to cost me $654.00 to fix the ding I have in my drivers door, goes in Jan 2nd, 2007.
I was told it was my fault because I was getting out my car but the Insurance company. They say there are different rules for parking lots and they consider getting out of your car in a parking lot the same as getting out on a busy street.
My deductable is $500.00 and my quote was $654.00 with taxes and everything. Really no point in making a claim with Insurance for $154.00.
So I'll bite the bullet on this one.
I was also told for parking lots Kingsway Mall had the most accidents in out of them all from an Insurance adjuster stand point.
no nearby witnesses so I was S.O.L oh well what are you gonna do? still hurts and this is my new car too.
