          Hey gang

This is Brent's wife, Kaila and I am working very hard on this one, made me cry last night when Brent told me about this. I am heading to Wal Mart today to see what I can find. I think that our family is willing to go without a few extras this year in order to make someone who has NOTHING a very Merry Christmas.

I will post here as soon as I know what I have got. I will include a gift receipt in case any of it has to be returned.

Andrew. have you thought about emailing Gerry's Serect Wish at CJAY92? They give away stuff every Friday to people in need. You can get the email address from their website.

Kudos to ALL of you for making this your mission this Christmas.

My friend works with Gerry Forbes' wife and hangs out with them all the time. I'll forward this on to her and see if she can hookup something with C-Jay.

They might already have all their donations planned out for the season already, but we could give it a shot.

Re: Do something nice this Holiday..... your help needed

Between my house, Wal Mart and the dollar store here is what I have:

              USED:
              Manual can opener
              Laundry basket
              Rubbermaid container with lid
              Plastic drinking cups
              Measuring cups
              Cookie cutters
              Corkscrew

              NEW:
              Pantyliners
              Toothpaste (reg and kids)
              Shampoo and Conditioner
              Vaseline
              Disposable rasers
              Band Aids
              Mr Bubbles bubble bath
              Ivory Dish soap
              Tide
              Pkg of AA batteries
              Toothbrushes (4)
              Windex multi surface cleaner
              Lysol 4 in 1 wipes
              Pack of sponges
              1 Pair of rubber gloves
Serving spoon, slotted spoon, flipper and spaghetti server
              Spatula
              Set of 2 wire whisks
              Set of 3 dish cloths
              Set of 2 dish towels
              Set of glasses (3)
White towels, face cloths and hand towels (2 of each)
              Pack of lightbulbs
              Hair bobbins for girl
Manicure set (gift for the neice)
Interactive books (gifts for both kids)
Set of Candlesticks (gift for mom)
Few DVD's (Gift for the family)
Flannel PJ's for mom and neice
              Socks for both kids
              Running shoes for both kids
One pair of thermal socks for mom and neice
Various coupons for diapers and groceries
$10 to Safeway (you can stick it in with the other card if you like Blair)

Wal Mart would only allow a gift receipt for 11 items so I had them put in the shoes, PJ's, socks, towels and manicure set. I am sure if they do not need any of the other stuff they can always pass it on to another family in need through the church or whatever.
I will send this stuff with Brent tomorrow night.

Glad to see people pitching in, and this is great because you can actually see it make a difference!

I will try and get a gift card for Safeway or something to help them have a great Christmas dinner or just some extra food!

                    WOW guys!
first off sorry for the lack of response the last few days, have been in a time crunch for term papers and have finals starting tomorrow at 8am.

mitch just dropped off a whole whack of stuff that people brought to the meet. I don't know who gave what, or what is in some of the wrapped presents but I really appreciate it. If you brought something let me know, so I can give kudos where they are due.

Stonewall get in contact me through PM or phone and I will see what we can sort out.

Thanks again guys YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Stonewall is my hero!!!! dude when mitch dropped off the stuff I had no idea everything in that container was from you. holy crap man you are awesome. your stuff literally brought a tear to my moms eye when I ran it down to her place tonite. The shoes are the perfect sizes and the socks and everything are just awesome.

We sorted through all of the stuff and my dad went round with Calgary housing to the new place they will be moving into. There are lots of windows but no blinds (kinda stupid I know).
Because sourcing second hand blinds is going to be an utter nightmare and more hassle than its worth due to them having to be custom sized and everything what we are looking to do is try and round up $150 to spend at home depot.

Another thing we are trying to find is a computer tower capable of running windows XP. It cant be completely wiped, with nothing on it. I have a copy of XP to throw on there with office. Shaw has donated basic internet to them so that the daughter who will be in school can use it for research and stuff. I have a monitor, keyboard, and mouse along with all the software neccessary to make this work, but no PC tower capable of running XP. If anyone has an old one thats a paperweight. It doesn't have to be fast, doesn't need to have good graphics. Just so I can put XP and office XP on it and surf the net.

You guys are really restoring faith in humanity. People always say no one ever does anything good but you guys are proving them wrong.

If you have donated anything please throw me up your name (only first if you dont want everyone know full name) and an email where I can contact you at. Good deeds do not go unnoticed.

Thanks again guys, and a big thanks to Mitch for bringing me all the stuff this afternoon.

Well I have to say that I really didn't have a whole lot to do with it, it was mostly my great wife with the huge heart We are just happy to hear it is going to good use.
Edit: Also not everything in the clothes basket was from us, we threw some of the other peoples items in there so they wouldn't slide around. I believe there where 4 or 5 of us in total. It was great to see everyone get together and help a family out.

I gave the Iron and the black girls jacket. I might be able to still help out with the Home Depot card if needed.

i was going to pass on the receipt for the coffee maker and dishes (but forgot)... if you find anything broken or something, let me know and I will straighten it out.

*i have a pile of computers ready for the recyclers at my office... I will see if any are still good. We run pretty high end stuff, so our 'old' stuff is usually not bad. will keep you posted.
