  • Smart With Bike Engine...........Not

Well we have all seen the Smart with the bike engine, well now the opposite has occured

Motorcycles, for all of their high-performance possibilities, are a decidedly thrifty lot, operating on but a drip of fuel compared to sports cars with similar dynamic envelopes. But that doesn’t mean they can’t get more efficient.

A new bike from E.V.A. Products BV Holland, the Trackstar T-800CDI is one of the first diesel motorcycles marketed for general consumption. The two-wheeler employs the 800cc three-cylinder derv-burner that DaimlerChrysler uses in the Smart fortwo. Utilizing a turbocharged and intercooled common-rail direct injection system, the bike’s “smart” ECU gives it the ability to run on regular diesel or pure plant oil. So-equipped, the engine produces a stout 150Nm of torque (around 110 pound-feet), which it routs through a CVT.
