Anyone else find silverstars have a short life? I seem to get a 10 to 13 month span out of them. I have had 3 sets now, and the right and left usually go within a month of each other. On the up side, they have a year warranty, so when I can find the reciepts.. its no big deal. My headlights are clean and sealed, so I'm not sure why they burn out so fast.

Re: Silverstar Lights
Mine haven't burnt out yet, but when they do I'm getting a bunch from:

Cheap shipping and they carry non-tinted silverstars, or the Philips truevision. Loved by vortexers.

Re: Silverstar Lights
I had silverstars and both headlights burnt out within a day of each other almost exactly 1 year after i installed them. I tried those GE NightHawk bulbs and they've been in my car for about 2-3 years now. They seem to be getting more and more dim lately. Maybe it's time to replace them.
 to powerbulbs. I wonder if powerbulbs is selling the euro (Osram) or NA versions? Are they still shipping a free set of W5W bulbs with your order?
I think the reason why they burn out fast is that the use a smaller/thinner filament which burns hotter (and whiter) than a normal bulb with the same power consumption.
I remember someone telling me once that there was a Motomaster bulb that was supposed to be kickass.. it was comparable to the philips vision plus bulbs at a fraction of the price. The only thing was finding them in H7 was near impossible.Last edited by zilla; 11-10-2006, 11:51 AM.Tim

Re: Silverstar Lights
I've had my silverstars for two years and touch wood no problems yet. I don't run DRL's though which probably helps.Last edited by Tromping_Maniac; 11-10-2006, 11:51 AM.Bryce

Re: Silverstar Lights
no.. that would cause actual cracking of the glass anyways wouldn't it? and likely cause a much sooner failure, as far as i understand. but ya, i'm careful putting them in.Stefan
