  • Motorcycling around the world

No, I'm not doing a trip report at this point. However, I did want to let everyone know that my brother and I have decided to ride motorcycles around the world in 2008. Planning for a trip like this starts months in advance and so I've started a blog that will discuss everything to that effect.

The blog is in its infancy as I catch up from when we first discussed the trip (and I had never ridden a motorcycle) to present day. Hopefully it will provide some interesting reading for people. My brother and I are very different people and I think that's a main reason why our trip will be a success...

Feel free to give me your feedback - both in terms of the trip and the blog.

In other news, I'm back into a dub after a two month absence after selling my MK4 Golf. Details to follow later.

That was Long Way Round with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman. Definitely an interesting show. We learned a lot about what we could expect and how not to do things as a result of that program.

              Re: Motorcycling around the world

We planned our route through Germany last night. (will be updated on the blog in a couple weeks).

We are going to Wolfsburg, Stuttgart, Nurburgring and Berlin.

I've been to Stuttgart already - my brother has not done much travel at all. He owns a Porsche and certainly wants to see it's original birthplace.

James if you think you can keep up, you can follow along. We'll just call you Claudio and make you carry all the camera equipment!

The best part about that show was that the only place where they had issues/an accident was in calgary. Ewan got hit on his bike on the deerfoot or something like that and the guy that hit him didnt stick around.

It's not mentioned in the series, but Claudio also broke his rib in Mongolia. They were pretty selective about what they showed and didn't.
