  • Does an extra set of winter rims boost the value of a car?

I have a 20th Anniversary GTI and last year I purchased a new set of steelies and winter rubber so I didn't have to ruin my 18" Aristo's. However, this year I decided to begin parking my car for the winter and now I have these nearly brand new steelies and tires collecting dust in my garage.

My Aristo's have straight summer tires, so the next owner would have to buy a set of winter rims and tires if he/she decides to drive it year round.

    My questions are:

Should I keep the extra set of rims and tires for when I decide to sell my car or should I try and sell them off now?

Does it make a difference in regards to re-sale value? Would it make it easier to sell the car?

    What would you do?

    Thanks

I don't think there is any "value" in selling the car with the two sets. However, that being said there may be an incentive to the new buyer to buy yours as opposed to another similar car without 2 sets.

I think it's better to sell them on their own.

Cash value....you'd be wiser to sell them separately.
