ULSD (Diesel)

so we are supposed to be in mid transition to ultra low sulphur diesel... anyone know if this is actually happening? The government mandate dates are:

< 22ppm by September 1, 2006
< 15ppm by October 15, 2006

The low sulphur "less then 0.05%" (<500ppm) stuff that was previously required should be on its way out...

shell is those dates you gave, husky website says they are all now <15ppm. i tried shell a few days ago, not bad, now i'm husky, but havent had a good chance to test it out cause its wet and just tirespin

cool. so with the sulphur cut back, could one bump the EGR duty cycle back up to stock without getting all the crap build up in intake?

why would do you that? lol just leave it. you can go buy a fuel pump seal kit if you havent been use fuel additives though...

Just get a propane injection system bart. Its cheap like diesel.

well, maybe if you beat me eheh, so far its not happening is it? disturbo blew his engine up too i think, so the deez is pretty high up now in the speed rankings. no need for propane right now i guess

Shell had said that they were selling ULSD at their stations quite a while ago IIRC (only the stations in Alberta and Quebec i think)

The US is going to 15 as well, but on a slower phase in.

Europe is actually at 50 ppm regulated at the moment. They are going to 10 ppm in 2009.

i dunno, maybe, either way the motor isnt in the car...

the reason for new seals is that having little sulfur tends to shrink seals that were used to high sulfur.
