  • Video edit ?

I'm trying to edit some videos... and splice a few together to a soundtrackusing Adobe premier. The problem is, some of the files arent compatible with Adobe. One of the videos I want to use is in an WMV Video/Audio format which wont import into Adobe... how to I change the format?

    Thanks,
    Colin

as the resident computer nerd and videographer for a real simple method.. if you are using windows XP.. off windows update download the new movie maker 2.0 and use it for doing simple video work.. honestly its so simplle to do and will take you 5 minutes to toss a movie together.. premiere is for advanced editing,etc..

Yeah, I was just about to say - you should just use Movie Maker. Sure it's no as fancy as some of the other software, but it's dead easy to use and the results turn out great.

How does one compare the nerd quotient? I think I'm up there too.

My mojo eh? Ask me next time I am 0ld sk00l!!

That sounds like a nice PC you got there Ryan. I am a poor student with a lot of car related debt, so I can only upgrade when my work demands it... I just put together a 2.4G P4 on a Gigabyte GA-8SQ800 Ultra mainboard, 1G dual-channel DDR400... about 100 gigs of HD on 2 Maxtor drives, my old Geforce 3 Ti 500 and a 21" viewsonic P-series CRT. Got the windowed case, LED fans, and all the rest of the rice for Lanparties. This will have to last me a couple years though.

I have an iBook. I love my iBook. My iBook loves me. :mrtongue:

I have a few other computers as well, but I've been selling them because they take up way too much space. My two other main computers are an old Athlon wintel box running XP and another old K6II wintel box running Mandrake Linux.

But I really want to get one of the new PowerMac G5's that are going to be announced shortly. Yummy.

At work though we have 4 Sun Enterprise 10000 frames, each with 16 system boards and 64 gig of RAM. We have several network disk arrays as well. Many, many TB of storage. Those are the servers I develop on everyday. They're the size of refrigerators. It still surprises me how slow they can seem though.

But in the end... it all comes back to my iBook. It's my favorite.
