Oil question

Hey guys - I know its been asked before but I gotta get an oil change done before i head out of town this weekend and dont want to run around to a bunch of places.

Anyways - Does crapy tire carry Mobil Delvac 1 (5w40) or AMSOIL series 3000(5w30) synthetic oils? 4l jugs?

Ideally id like the amsoil cause thats what ive been using, but the delvac is supposedly pretty good

The only place I have found that sells the Delvac is the Husky station off of Blackfoot tr. It's on the way to Deerfoot when your coming out of downtown from 9th ave through Inglewood.

damn...not on my way home and there arent really any truck stops in the north :(

i know CT carries Amsoil but i think their selection sucks

Only 5/40 I've found in retail is Penzoil Platinum 5/40 (which is what I'm running) and Castrol Syntec 5/40 which is at some CTs. I found both at the local AutoValue, and the Penzoil was 2-3 bucks cheaper. Has had excellent reviews. I don't trust the 5/50 or the 0/40 yet. Both in single quart bottles, no big jugs. :(

the penzoil and castrol both cg or ch-4 rated for diesel too do you happen to know?

Argh sorry I thought you had a 1.8T !! TDI oil knowledge is nil. :(

castrol syntec 5w40 is fine for the 99.5-2003 tdi's. You can get it at cdn tire (they had it on sale 5l for 30 bucks, dunno if its still on sale though - I bought like 10 L lol)

The Syntec 5w40 is also what the dealer reccomends now.. I use either that or Mobil 1 0w40..
