I wasn't in anyway referring to oil or the economy in my "centre of the universe" comment. I simply meant that every single weekend we much endure through seeing the Leafs on HNIC even though they have their our friggen’ network that will show all theirs games! The leafs always take centre stage over any other team in media discussion, even though they are the worst of all 6 teams. Just pisses me off that with a 3 games left in the season Mcguire was still talking like they were king and that "the team had to think like a cup contender" if they were going to make it into the playoffs. And look they didn’t even make they playoffs and we are still talking about them!

Where do you think the headquarters of the CBC are??? Maybe talk to them about HNIC scheduling. I think it's all about heritage. The Leafs and Habs are the oldest teams in Canada. Imagine the fan base they have. That's why french CBC has habs games and english CBC has Leaf games. Do you think ratings will go up for HNIC if they only showed Flames games or Vancouver games? I think not.

You can tell who are die-hard Flames fans in this city. Yesterday I saw at least a thousand flames flags going to work. Today I saw only two..
