Good/Fast Lunch Downtown Calgary?

Hey guys,

I have been working downtown for a year now and am getting really really sick of the same lunch spots that I go to.

Can anyone recommend some places for a good fast lunch downtown? Now that its warming up I can walk a little farther.

I really prefer cafe style places where you can just walk in, I don't really want a restaraunt or anything like that. No time.

cafe in the calgary tower/encana building is pretty good. good prices too, or a good little hot dog place few doors up from subway on 8th. othere than that. most of it is fast food, susi (if you like that i can tell you the best spot) or fast food resturants. im in the same boat. im starting to try to bring my lunch.

Cafe Mauro - itialian sandwhiches - beside Falafel King just of 8th and 1st St SW (by Subway).
The Blue Olive on 8th (used to be Cedars Deli between 1st and 2nd St SW I think) - great smoked meat sandwhiches.

That's all that I can think of right now...

I hit up Sunterra in Banker's Hall every day. But for a great lunch I recommend Mango Shiva on 8th Ave and (I think) 5th St. Indian buffet. More nan that you can shake a piece of butter chicken at!

ya i work in bankers hall, go to sunterra all the time thats awesome! the best sunterra is in the trans canada building ( i think thats it? right across north from petro can towers)

I work on 8th so I also already hit up Sunterra/Bankers all the time as well as Falafel King. There is another place on 8th called Chick Pea that has good falafel.

Today I went to this place called Sonoma Cafe on 5th and 5th, 2nd floor. It was excellent! I also like the Holy Grill across from MEC on 10th. If you haven't tried either, you should.

Ha Long Bay for vietnamesse subs...damn good! They are on 7th and..un...2nd? I think they have another location downtown too....oh! and CHEAP too

Sub Mission for a damn good sandwich, they are on 8th and 3rd I believe in the plus 15s by sears

and for sit down chinese: Ho Wans...Likely the best chinese food in the entire city..they are like...3rd ave and 1st SE

I am like 2 blocks from sub mission so I will hit that tomorrow, thanks James!

Ho Wans is too far for me :( Ha Long Bay maybe, but Thi Thi on 8th is closer to me and pretty good.

I also like to eat at Husky Cafe in the Husky building, 3rd floor. The wraps at Jugo Juice on 8th are also way better than they look when you actually bite into them!

I need more ideas so I can stay away from the junk food in Eaton Center etc.

Its right next to that fancy cigar shop there, cant remember the buildings name but I do remember a pretty sweet water-steps thing going on if thats familiar

Used to go there all the time, it's really good. It's nice to go with a group though so you can get a bunch of plates. If you're just getting Dim Sum though I guess it doesn't matter.
