I would guess what also helped sean is that they probably just caught a glimpse of him going super fast but couldn't get an accurate register of his speed. Also, if a cop loses site of you for any time at all and you do not confess to going any excessive speed, there is "reasonable doubt" and therefore a higher likely hood of the charge being beaten. That's why you'll read on some boards how some kid got pulled over for speeding but was given something like exhaust or noise violations but not speeding.
I too have been pulled over for doing 160+ while racing on crowchild and was let off without any charges at all because they lost sight of us and we did not admit to anything. I did, however get yelled at severly by the officer and was threatened with jail time. Never have I done anything like that again.
