  • Crowchild Cops

I have nothing against cops... most of them are nice guys. But to sit behind a merge sign right at the beginning of the construction zone on crowchild really is lame. Doesn't even give you a proper chance to slow down. :mrsly: Well folks... there goes more mod $$$ :(
Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

Tough luck, did you get double the fine for being in a construction zone?

i got nailed for driving pretty fast on crowchild last year... the police woman said she'd never seen such reckless driving before. 160 along crowchild and then a 4 wheel drift around the bend going up 53rd was pretty wicked though. haha.

no offence but if I saw you doing 160 up here I would even call the cops on you.. how the hell are you still driving they should have cut up your license on the spot

I wouldn't say I was allowed to drive like that but it was late at night and there actually was a pretty serious matter. My father had been in a hospital in spain for a week under surgery... came back to Calgary. That night I was driving home quickly because I was called and told he was having a serious problem. Later that night he was readmitted to the Foothills. The officer mentioned in this matter said that she could understand my plight and that next time I should call the Police instead of driving recklessly. I recieved no speeding violation.

Point is... cops are on crowchild all the time and its a good idea not to speed on it.

Its a good thing I didn't have my GT25 on the car otherwise I probably would not have stoped...

In that case, speeding like that is definetly more understandable...Peter, I wasn't getting on his case, it just sounded like an exaggeration at the time. No hard feelin's.

yea me neither.. trying not to sound all bad.. in a situation like that its understandable.. heck last week going golfing out at carstairs I took my car up to 200 on a back highway.. that was damn fast and nice as hell too.. car had tons of legs left to go.. i think it could've done the 245ish mark or maybe ours are gov'd to 230ish but our 5spd gearing runs out at like 145-150mph so like 245km/hr.. freaky fast. i wanna do it with my coils so i'm safer and at like racecity or something where I won't lose my license and die.

Long time ago I once did 250 in an 80 zone. Police station and court appearances.

Thats crazy stuff.... I though that if you do more than double the limit your liscense is revoked automatically... no questions asked?

50 over and its loss of license.. but it all depends on the cop too. some cops will say alright i'll make it like 45 instead of 50.. but you still get fined out your ass and will have to possibly go to court.. i've read stuff up on if you say you'll take a drivers ed course you won't get fined or demerited.
