I'm trying to install my own components with crossovers. What can I do about the jetta wiring? Ya know how the stock speakers have internal crossovers or something right? Should I stick with systems that have the same or how can I bypass and hook up my own Xovers?

Re: wiring tricks?
Are you installing new components that run off the stock deck? They would sound better running off their own amp.
That said, if I recall when I did mine (a year ago) the signal wires come into the mid driver and the tweeter then plugs into a connector on/near the mid driver. If that is the case, then just connect the cross over to the factory wires before the mid driver.Jeff

Re: wiring tricks?
The main signal comes into the door and is split to the mid and tweet both which have their own crossovers built in. Depending if you have the monsoon system or not you maybe not able to use the stock headunit to run the system. I would sugest leaving the stock system alone unless you are ripping it all out and using a new headunit or amp.Name: Brent

Re: wiring tricks?
Right, thanks. But my system is getting pieced together right now, 10" Jl's probably ina couple weeks. I was just wondering if I could hook my comp's up without the amp or possibly the Xovers. Is the Xover for the stock sp's in the wiring? Could I just replace them with my comp's for the time being til I get the rest together and then hook up the Xovers and amp?LOGAN

Re: wiring tricks?
You want to tear your doors apart TWICE?? I did that because my buddy that helped me with my install did his parts wrong and I had to go in and fix it. I wouldn't want to do it on purpose....Jeff

you could take the speaker wire that goes to the mids from the deck and connect it to the new crossover and wire the speakers from there.
then you don't need to do any thing later since it wired up properly, unless you want to upgrade the wiring into the doors.
check the offset of the speakers, you may need spacers like in the mk4 platform.put.......put.......
