Keep only what you need in your savings account. Any spare money that you don't need in the coming months should be put into the Money Market, GIC's, etc.... depending on how soon you will need that money again.Sidewalks are for normal walkin.... aint no room for fancy walkin....

ing has about a 1-2 day turnaround to get to my cibc account. they work well for 3%. anything you can do without for a while.. yeah, 3% is weak.Stefan

I don't think ING has branches anywhere, but I have seen their ATMs in Canadian Tire before.
Bank of Montreal is 2.6%, highest of the mainstream banks. You can transfer online and it goes through right away, assuming you have another account with them, should only be a day or two otherwise.Jeff

At scotia we have 2.6% aswell. And these rates vary with the market conditions. ING may offer 3% but you get no service either. If it is a fair amount of money ,and you do need it liquid maybe get a cashable GIC. Will probably get a better rate, with out completely locking it in.Mitesh

Re: any investment specalists in here??
you do get a debit card with ing.. you will pay a service charge to whatever bank you withdraw the funds from, because i think there is only one ING debit machine in calgary. but in a pinch, the money is available now. as far as service goes, their phone support is good. you cant go in to a branch, which i guess can be a bad thing, but I usually do everthing I can to avoid going to a bank anyways. at least over the phone you can just hang up and redial if the last service rep pissed you off.Stefan
